Alina Izmailova

Born in 1992. Ufa, Russia. Currently lives in Catania (Italy).

Exploring the combination of materials and technique, Alina focuses on the concept of time as evidenced through objects. Her work reflects an interest in how objects embody history, storing traces of time, aesthetics, and transformation. She often incorporates a marginal environment or office aesthetic that contrasts with more traditional forms, testing the depth of each. Her work highlights the dialogue between past and present, blending traditional forms with contemporary materials and technologies. By treating objects as witnesses to human experience, she seeks to identify key moments in the modern landscape and analyze their artifact-like qualities.
Received an MSc in 2015 from the BSU Faculty of Geology, Ufa; BA, workshop at Sergey Bratkov's Rodchenko School of Art, 2022, Moscow; MA, École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy, France, 2024. Angewandte, Department of Sculpture and Space (Erasmus), Vienna, Austria, 2023
