Solo show at ddd Kunsthause, Yerevan, Armenia, 2025
Batik, sculpture
The project is based on my impressions of Yerevan, where modernist architecture exists alongside the constant presence of Mount Ararat. This coexistence became a starting point for reflection on contemporary art.
Over time, I became interested in the position of modernist art as a way of stepping away from postmodern excess. Not as a return to the past, but as a means of slowing down and regaining focus.
The project unfolds within a context where multiple visual languages coexist. Rather than contradicting one another, they remain available and active at the same time. This simultaneity reflects a contemporary condition in which different artistic approaches can share the same space without hierarchy.
The works use found fabrics that preserve traces of their technical origin. These marks function as an anchor, fixing the object in material reality within an increasingly virtual context.
